What is the cancellation policy?

+

Merchant places
Cancellations are not encouraged and will be processed on a case-by-case basis. If cancellation is necessary, the following cancellation fees will apply:

  • Cancellation on or before Friday 20th December 2024 – a £200.00 administration fee per person will be retained.
  • After this date, in case of cancellation, full charges are applicable.

Requests to cancel should be submitted in writing by email to bmf@firstevent.co.uk.

Delegate registration
Registration will close by Monday 31st March 2025 and you can transfer the registration to another person up until this date. The modification can be made free of charge online via the registration portal or by email (bmf@firstevent.co.uk). After this date, any changes can only be made via phone, with First Event, and, if permitted, will incur a £60.00 administration charge.

Travel Information

What is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Barcelona Airport (BCN), located approximately 20 minutes from the venue.

 

Are flights included?

No, attendees are responsible for booking and paying for their own flights.

 

Are transfers from the airport included?

 

+

No, attendees must arrange their own transportation from the airport to the event venue.

Taxis are available at Barcelona Airport and are located outside the Arrival areas of both terminal buildings. Payments can be made in cash (euros) and may also be made by card, but we advise checking with the driver that they accept card payments before your journey starts. The taxi fare from Barcelona Airport to the Torre Melina, a Gran Meliá Hotel will cost approximately €25 – €35 and the journey can take up to 20 minutes

What are the entry requirements for Spain?

British and Irish passport holders can enter Spain without a visa for stays up to 90 days within a 180-day period. A valid passport is required for entry.

What are the health requirements for Spain?

Currently, there are no mandatory health checks on arrival, but this can change based on global health situations. It is advised to check closer to the event date for any updates on requirements such as vaccinations or health certifications.

 

Am I responsible for my own travel insurance?

Yes, all delegates are responsible for arranging their own travel insurance. Please ensure you arrange sufficient cover and bring a copy of the policy with you in case of an emergency.

 

What currency is used in Barcelona?

The currency used in Barcelona is the Euro (EUR).

While many establishments accept card payments, a minimum spend of around €10 might be required. It’s wise to carry some cash for taxis and tips.

 

What language is spoken in Barcelona?

The primary languages spoken in Barcelona are Spanish and Catalan. While Spanish is widely used, Catalan is the official language of the region and is commonly used in public administration and schools. English is also widely understood in tourist areas.

Please note that accommodation is based on double occupancy and includes a buffet breakfast. There will be a supplement for single occupancy.
